Spring Simplicity

By Kelly Dawn Jones

Spring comes to visit in the early months

Casting warm rays of life upon the land

Quietly, tenderly

The flowers lift their sweet faces to the sun

They smile and stretch away the winter ache

Now, the earth erupts in color

Greens and reds, vibrant blues and yellows

Flowers bloom to become girls

Girls with long, carefree hair

Soft as petals

Who dance in the fields and fall in love

And this is all they will know until Spring is gone

. . .Go on home. . .
